Fanvil X301W WiFi Phone

A basic staff extension doesn’t need a color screen or a dozen programmable keys, but it might genuinely need to connect wherever the office’s wireless network reaches rather than wherever an Ethernet drop happens to exist. The Fanvil X301W delivers exactly that — the same straightforward, essential entry-level telephony as the wired X301 series, now connecting through built-in dual-band Wi-Fi.

This is Fanvil’s entry-level wireless IP phone, purpose-built for the same basic telephony roles as the wired X301/X301P, freed from the requirement of a nearby Ethernet connection.

Built-In Dual-Band Wi-Fi as Standard

The X301W includes built-in 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, giving the phone genuine wireless deployment flexibility without requiring a separate USB dongle or wired network connection — a meaningful advantage for locations where running Ethernet cabling simply isn’t practical or cost-effective.

The Same Essential Dot-Matrix Display and Call Handling

The X301W retains the same 132×64 2.3-inch dot-matrix display with backlight, 2 SIP lines, and 6-way audio conferencing found on the wired X301 series, meaning the move to wireless connectivity comes with no reduction in the straightforward, essential functionality that defines this entry-level phone line.

The Same HD Audio and Comprehensive Codec Support

Supporting G.722 and Opus wideband codecs alongside a comprehensive narrowband codec set including G.711, G.726, G.723.1, and the full G.729 family plus iLBC, the X301W delivers identical audio quality and platform interoperability to its wired sibling.

An Important Trade-Off: No PoE Support

Unlike the X301P, which supports PoE for power delivery through the network cable, the X301W does not include PoE support — a genuine trade-off for its wireless capability. Since the X301W connects via Wi-Fi rather than a wired network connection, it requires a standard power adapter for operation, a reasonable design choice given the phone isn’t drawing power through an Ethernet cable in the first place.

The Same Comprehensive Phonebook and Call Handling

With a 1000-entry local phonebook, 1000-entry remote phonebook support, 600-entry call logging, and EHS headset compatibility, the X301W delivers the same practical everyday functionality as the wired X301 series.

Action URL/URI Support Retained

The X301W retains Action URL/URI support for integration with third-party applications and automated workflows, matching the wired X301 series’ capability in this area.

Flexible Desktop and Wall-Mount Installation

With an adjustable desktop stand offering 45 and 50-degree viewing angles, alongside wall-mount capability via separate accessories, the X301W adapts to whatever physical installation a specific location requires, regardless of its wireless connectivity.

The Practical Case for Choosing Wireless Over Wired

For basic phone locations where running Ethernet cabling is impractical, costly, or simply unavailable — a reorganized break room, a temporary staff station, a location added after initial office wiring was completed — the X301W removes that installation constraint entirely, delivering the same essential calling capability as the wired X301 series without requiring a network drop.

Perfect For

  • Basic staff extensions in locations without existing Ethernet infrastructure
  • Break rooms, common areas, and temporary stations needing wireless connectivity
  • Businesses avoiding the cost of running new network cabling for basic phone locations
  • Locations added after initial office wiring was completed
  • Organizations wanting entry-level telephony with wireless flexibility over PoE simplicity
  • IT departments deploying basic phones where a power outlet is available but Ethernet isn’t
  • Businesses standardizing on the X301 series’ essential functionality across both wired and wireless locations
