APC 950VA Back-UPS, 950VA BX950MI

The BX950MI from APC by Schneider Electric is a tower uninterruptible power supply rated 950 VA / 520W. Using a line-interactive design, it protects a computer, router, POS till or CCTV recorder against outages, surges and voltage swings.

Power protection and design

Rather than convert power continuously, the BX950MI watches the line and steps in when needed. Its AVR boosts sags and trims surges without touching the battery, and if mains fails the BX950MI transfers to battery within a few milliseconds. An LCD or indicator panel shows load and status.

Where the BX950MI fits

• Small sites where simplicity and running cost matter — the design is efficient and only draws on the battery when the mains actually fails.
• A till, router or small recorder that must not lose power abruptly — 520W is sized for light loads that need clean shutdown rather than long runtime.
